Bais Shaindel is a Jewish Orthodox Girls high School with a serious emphasis on religious studies. 50% of learning time is religious instruction. Our school provides a nurturing environment where students can learn and grow both academically and spiritually.

Religious Studies
Throughout the four years of High School, students can expect to cover the greater part of Tanach in depth, in addition to many areas Bekius.

Dinim and Halacha are considered majors and having a passing grade of 85%
​
Hashkafa is studied throughout the grades and covers topics such as Tefila, Inyanei Dyoma, Tznius, Technology Awareness and Chizuk Habayis.

Literature – Course I
Emphasis on structure of Literary Essays based on a wide variety of Literary structures including, short stories, novel, drama, and biographies.

HISTORY
Global Studies
Beginning with ancient civilization, continuing through the industrial revolution, students attain a clear picture of each era. Students are given to feel the character of each time period through analysis of world events.
MATH
Integrated Math I / Algebra
An integrated mathematics program combining elements of several different branches of mathematical theory and practice, with a focus on algebra. Heavy emphasis is placed on “real life” math, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Introduction to computers, Fundamentals of using a Windows Program

Hebrew
A comprehensive language course designed to build a fluency in basic spoken language. The rules of Hebrew grammar are studied to ensure accuracy in use and comprehension of the language in speech and writing.

Includes team sports, dancing and step aerobics.
First Aid
The skills and confidence that it takes to assist in a medical emergency are developed by hands on practice with mannequins. The importance of accident prevention is stressed.

An integrated mathematics program combining elements of several different branches of mathematical theory and practice, with a focus on geometry. Heavy emphasis is placed on applying mathematics to our everyday world.

Study of the various branches of Biology including plants, mitosis, meiosis, and genetics.

Word Processing
A comprehensive course covering all Microsoft Word essentials. Includes creating, managing, editing, formatting and printing short and long documents; and desktop publishing.

Advanced Hebrew
Advanced course concentrates on enriching and building a fluent vocabulary. Advanced laws of Grammar are mastered to meet the needs of increasing spoken and written language.

Economics

General Science
A fascinating look at the universe, solar system, and functions of the Earth-Moon System. Includes applications of these concepts to relevant Jewish issues (such as Zemanim, Rosh Chodesh, international dateline, etc.).
A study of weather and climate. Includes topics of physical science and chemistry.
HISTORY
Jewish American History
A fascinating perspective of American History through the lens of the Jewish experience. This course begins with the role Jews played in the discovery and establishment of America, and covers important topics such as jewish immigration, the rise of the Conservative and Reform movements, and the building of yeshivos in America.

Computation of materials and data using Microsoft Excel.

A structured unit to develop advanced writing skills through the use of workshops and structured techniques. Students use these techniques to write a research paper, photo essay and a short story.
HISTORY
American History and Government
Covers the history of the United States of America from the period after the American Revolution to present day. Emphasis is placed on the understanding of the 20th century. Curriculum includes an intensive analysis of the three branches of government and an overview of the practical use of the constitution. Famous and pertinent court cases are highlighted and discussed in detail.

Graduating seniors will work together to graphically design, fund and produce a class yearbook.
ELECTIVES
Students get a chance to take two courses from a choice of courses including Teaching Methods, Human Science, Teaching Hebrew Reading, Speech, Business and Financing, Advanced Writing, Social Skills training and Pre-Calculus.
